Void

A Void is the cancellation of an authorized transaction before it is captured or reaches the daily settlement batch.

When a transaction is voided, the merchant tells the issuer to immediately release the hold on the funds. Because the money never actually moved, a void prevents processing fees that would normally apply to a captured transaction that is later refunded.
