Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a financial service that gives credit card holders the option to pay for an international transaction in their home currency at the point of sale.

The merchant's payment gateway or terminal instantly applies an exchange rate (which usually includes a markup) to convert the purchase amount. While DCC offers transparency to the consumer (they know immediately what their bank will charge), the exchange rates are often less favorable than standard issuer conversion rates.
